Elizabeth Moyer, LCMHC, LPC
Elizabeth Moyer considers her job as a counselor to be a calling and a privilege. Being invited into someone’s story at perhaps the hardest and darkest moments is a tender, sacred entry point into a relationship. That’s why therapy with Elizabeth is warm, inviting, encouraging, honest, and also constructive. As a therapist, Elizabeth values a collaborative client relationship where she plays an active role in listening with compassion and partnering with clients to process, heal, and achieve the change they are seeking. She seeks to make therapy impactful, actionable, and lasting for every client.
Elizabeth enjoys working with mature adolescents (15+), young adults, and mature adults facing a wide range of issues that can include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, emotional dysregulation, self-harm, family and/or interpersonal conflict, relationship issues, life transitions, trauma, narcissistic abuse, codependency, and boundary setting.
Elizabeth aims to tailor therapy to meet the unique needs of each client, most often combining tools and concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Mindfulness, as well as interventions from other approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Internal Family Systems.
Elizabeth is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University. She has been practicing for over 8 years and is trained in complex trauma, nutrition and mental health, and advanced mood disorders.
When Elizabeth is not working, you can usually find her keeping up with her husband and three young kids, trying a new recipe, reading, baking bread, or serving in her community.
